This year, for the first time, the annual AfroFestival Ottawa will include international artistes on its three-day line-up. The festival will showcase African, Caribbean and Pan-African music in Ottawa, and one of the international acts scheduled to perform is Hezron.

Reggae artist HEZRON is heading to New Delhi this Friday by special invitation from the High Commission of Jamaica in India, where he will perform at Jamaica Day, commemorating Jamaica’s 64th Independence anniversary.

Hezron Clarke is a multi-talented musician, singer, songwriter, poet, storyteller - born in Jamaica, whose music incorporates reggae roots, soul and R&B through emotional songwriting and a powerful, distinctive melodic voice with a vocal range out of this world!

Citing the alarming surge in brutal acts and widespread atrocities committed both against and by youth—including the recent fatal stabbing at Ocho Rios High School—Hezron asserted that it is time to ensure children have access to more positivity, particularly in music, to counter the violent status quo.

"For the past two years, I’ve toured exclusively across Canada and West Africa, which has been an incredible experience. This year, I’m excited to be heading to the UK in the spring, followed by a second tour of Canada in the summer. Traveling and sharing music with different cultures continues to shape my sound and perspective."
